Thanks for consigning with 231 Hand! We love giving secondhand goods a new life! This is how our consignment process works and what you can expect when you leave your items with us.
Bringing in Your Items
Please check our current Acceptance Guidelines, posted online and in-store. Our requirements change based on the season, current trends, and what we have room for in the shop.
Please clean and look over your items before bringing them in. We are looking for items that are:
- Clean, washed, and odor-free
- In good working condition
- Free of significant damage, stains, or defects
- Ready to go straight onto the sales floor, display-ready items are always appreciated!
We generally do not accept fast-fashion or discount-store items, broken or non-functioning items, or anything that doesn't meet our current acceptance guidelines.
231 Hand has the final say on which items we are able to accept.
By consigning with us, you confirm that the items belong to you and are not stolen, counterfeit, or otherwise unlawful.
Pricing Your Items
231 Hand sets the selling price for each item. We look at things like the brand, age & condition, original retail price, current trends, and what similar items are selling for.
Used items are typically priced around 30–40% below their original retail price, but prices may vary.
We may lower an item's price during the 90-day consignment period if needed based on demand, season, market conditions, or the condition of the item. This can include damage, defects, or stains that weren't noticeable when the item was originally dropped off.
Items automatically discount 20% after they have not sold for 60 days.
Your Share
Your percentage is based on the actual selling price, not the original retail price.
You receive:
Up to $199 = 40% of the selling price per item (or 50% as store credit)
$200 to $299 = 50% of the selling price per item (or 60% as store credit)
300 and up = 60% of the selling price per item (or 70% as store credit)
Keeping Track of Your Items
When you drop off your items, we'll create your Consignor account in our Consignor Portal.
You'll receive an email invitation to your personal Consignor Portal, where you can keep track of:
- Your active items
- Items that have sold
- Your sales history
- Your available balance
Please check your portal regularly to track what has sold and when your items are coming to the end of their consignment period.
$ Getting Paid $
You can choose your payout option through your Consignor Portal.
Store Credit: Choose store credit and we'll add an extra 10% to your cleared balance.
Venmo: You can also choose a digital payout through Venmo.

How Long We Keep Your Items
Each item stays on consignment for 90 days.
If an item hasn't sold, it is your responsibility to pick up any unsold items before or at the end of the 90-day period within 7 days. If an item isn’t picked up within the 97 day period it will automatically become property of the shop. 231 Hand will donate proceeds from donated items once sold to local outdoor nonprofits and community organizations.
Loss or Damage
We take great care of the items you leave with us, but consignment items are left at your own risk.
231 Hand isn't responsible for items that are lost or damaged due to theft, fire, vandalism or circumstances outside of our reasonable control.
